Insulated High-Speed Door for Temperature

Megodoor insulated high-speed doors are designed for temperature-controlled workshops that require fast access, stable indoor temperatures and reduced energy loss. They are suitable for air-conditioned production areas maintained at approximately 10°C to 20°C, including electrical manufacturing, precision machining, automotive parts, aerospace and other industrial facilities.

Compared with standard single-layer PVC high-speed doors, this model uses a double-layer insulated curtain with thermal aluminium-foil insulation material between the two curtain layers. The insulated structure helps reduce heat transfer while maintaining the fast opening and closing performance required for frequent industrial traffic.

Double-Layer Insulated Door Curtain

The door curtain consists of two flexible PVC layers with an insulated aluminium-foil material installed in the middle. This structure forms an effective thermal barrier between the temperature-controlled workshop and adjacent areas.

The insulated curtain helps to:

  • Reduce the loss of cooled or conditioned air
  • Limit heat exchange between different working zones
  • Support stable workshop temperature control
  • Reduce the operating load on air-conditioning systems
  • Improve environmental separation between production areas

The flexible curtain also allows the door to operate at high speed without requiring the heavy door panels used on conventional insulated sectional doors.

Fast Opening to Reduce Cooling Loss

In a temperature-controlled workshop, every door-opening cycle affects indoor temperature. Traditional industrial doors operate relatively slowly, allowing a large amount of conditioned air to escape during vehicle or personnel passage.

Megodoor insulated high-speed doors use a high-speed drive and control system. The door opens quickly when receiving a signal and closes automatically after passage. By shortening the time that the doorway remains open, the door helps reduce cooling loss and maintain a more stable indoor environment.

The door can be activated by radar sensors, pull cords, push buttons, remote controls, induction loops, access control systems or equipment signals. Automatic delayed closing can also be configured according to the traffic requirements of the workshop.

Suitable for Workshops Maintained at 10–20°C

This product is mainly recommended for normal temperature-controlled and air-conditioned workshops operating between approximately 10°C and 20°C.

Typical applications include:

  • Electrical cable manufacturing workshops
  • Precision equipment production areas
  • Automotive component factories
  • Transmission equipment workshops
  • Aerospace manufacturing facilities
  • Constant-temperature assembly areas
  • Temperature-controlled warehouse passages
  • Internal logistics and forklift routes

For low-temperature cold storage or applications requiring a large temperature difference, a dedicated cold-room high-speed door should be selected instead.

Viewing Windows Are Not Recommended

Although transparent windows can improve visibility, they can also reduce the overall insulation performance of the curtain. The window material and the surrounding welded area may become a weak point in the thermal barrier.

For temperature-controlled workshops where energy efficiency and temperature stability are the priority, Megodoor generally recommends using a fully insulated curtain without transparent windows.

Where visual observation is essential, the size and position of the window should be carefully evaluated according to the actual operating conditions.

Reliable Safety and Control Options

The insulated high-speed door can be equipped with multiple safety protection devices, such as infrared photocells, wireless safety edges and safety light curtains. When a person, vehicle or obstacle is detected, the door can stop or reopen to reduce the risk of collision.

The control system can also provide opening-position, closing-position, fault and stop signals. I/O signals, RS485 communication and other interfaces can be configured for connection with automated equipment, AGVs, production lines or workshop management systems.
